Our Mission

We are devoted to promoting research and scholarship on the artist Amedeo Modigliani (1884-1920). 

We are currently focussing on:

1. Filling a very sophisticated, state-of-the-art software system with scientific data; Artificial Intelligence; object info; biographical information; exhibition and auction catalogue references on Modigliani.
2. Launching a Catalogue Raisonné of the artist, giving priority to the valid yet hitherto unacknowledged paintings by his hand.

• We are holding our next New York Committee Meeting in November 2025. Our experts are brilliant, knowledgeable individuals with decades of experience with Modigliani paintings, drawings and sculptures.

• We are holding our Paris Committee Meeting in June 2025. Submission Forms and Fees should be sent to us by 15 May 2025. Try to arrange by this date to send your painting to our Research Scientist in London (contact name and info to be provided after we receive your Submission Form and Fee) to have your painting tested using pigment analysis, x-ray, infrared, and the very latest techniques and research available.

• We know of certain techniques that are specific to Modigliani.  It is important that you start the submission process as early as possible to avoid scheduling conflicts with our Research Scientist and the Art Warehouse that co-ordinates our meetings.

• Our Modigliani Drawings Research Service is launched! We are proud to be adding Artificial Intelligence to our protocol for assessing drawings. 

• In 2023 Dr. Kenneth Wayne curated the exhibition Modigliani and the Modern Portrait at the Nassau County Museum of Art, New York. The show included works newly accepted by the committee. The catalogue is available for sale via the museum store.
