Promoting Research & Scholarship on the Artist

Our Mission

We are a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization devoted to promoting research and scholarship on the artist Amedeo Modigliani (1884-1920). We have two main activities:

-We are filling a very sophisticated, state-of-the-art software system with scientific data, object info, biographical information, exhibition and auction catalogue references, etc., on Modigliani.

-We are launching a catalogue raisonné of the artist, giving priority to the valid yet hitherto unacknowledged paintings by his hand.

ANNOUNCEMENTS/ News

-Our Modigliani Drawings Research Service is launched!  Please check our new link titled "Drawings" for all details and instructions.

*NEW*

We are holding a Committee Meeting of Experts now (November 2022).

We are accepting Submission Forms and Fees for our spring 2023 Committee Meeting of Experts.; our experts are brilliant, knowledgeable individuals with decades of experience with Modigliani paintings.  Email us now to start the process.

•Important dates:

By end of January 2023 :  Submission Forms and Fees should be sent to us by this date.

By end of January 2023 :  Arrange by this date to send your painting to our Research Scientist in New York (contact name and info to be provided after we receive your Submission Form and Fee) to have your painting tested (pigment analysis, x-ray, infrared, etc) using the very latest techniques and research.  We know of certain techniques that are specific to Modigliani.  We also use Canvas Weave Analysis to learn if your painting comes from the same canvas roll as known Modigliani paintings.

It is important that you start the process now to avoid scheduling conflicts with our Research Scientist and the Art Warehouse that coordinates our meetings.
